Help Your Child Thrive in the Dutch School System

Starting at a Dutch-only school after moving to the Netherlands can feel overwhelming. I help newcomer children build the Dutch they need to feel confident, take part in class, and show what they can do.

Build Confidence for Everyday School Life

Practical, child-friendly lessons focus on the language and routines children need to take part at school.

School Survival Phrases

Practice useful phrases for everyday needs: asking to use the toilet, get a drink, or tell someone you feel unwell.

Reading, Spelling & Pronunciation

Build Dutch pronunciation, reading fluency, and spelling through guided, age-appropriate practice.

Speaking Without Fear

Use playful dialogues, games, and role-play to practise real conversations and feel comfortable making mistakes.

Dutch Math Vocabulary

Understand Dutch math terms and word problems (verhaaltjessommen), so language gets in the way less when solving problems.

School Culture & Routines

Get familiar with classroom rules, daily routines, and teacher expectations to make settling in less stressful.

Cito / LVS Test Preparation

Help older children get comfortable with Dutch test formats and the language used in Cito and LVS assessments.
